We have an exciting opportunity for an Executive Manager Human Resources and Safety; this pivotal role will provide strategic and professional advice across the organisation and will formulate and deliver modern and progressive human resource and employee relations management, organisational development, and workplace health and safety. This role will foster a constructive organisational culture and a strong alignment between workplace strategies and Council's service delivery goals.

Able to enthusiastically embrace change and live organisational values, you will help others to do the same by applying skills that combine strong leadership with the ability to motivate, inspire and foster a team environment using an innovative, consultative and flexible approach through highly-developed communication and interpersonal skills.

You will be a manager with a proven track record in providing strategic, professional advice to internal and external stakeholders to ensure customer focussed efficient performance of Human Resources and Safety functions of Council. In addition you will have a solid understanding of Fair Work provisions and in-depth expertise in organisational transformation, leading and coaching the Human Resources and Safety team and Management.

Your substantial experience in managing a team within a medium to large organization will enable you to deliver on key responsibilities. In conjunction with your Human Resources expertise you will have high level of Work Health and Safety knowledge and experience in systems and legislation. Your relevant tertiary qualification will also set you in good stead for this opportunity.

What we offer you

This is a five-year contract position giving you the opportunity to see the long-term results of your work with us. The salary package is $192k - 232k including superannuation. City of Darwin offers six weeks annual leave, salary sacrifice options, and the opportunity for continuous professional development and learning. Relocation assistance may be offered to the successful candidate.

As part of Council's recruitment process, successful applicants will undergo pre-employment assessments, which may include a medical and psychometric test.
