About the role
The Strategic Procurement Advisor is responsible for the oversight, management and, delivery of the procurement and contracts administration frameworks and processes. Providing subject matter advice to the organisation thereby maintaining a strong culture of continuous improvement and compliance, in accordance with the approved strategic procurement framework. Reporting to the Executive Manager Corporate and Customer Services, this position will be pivotal in providing support to ensure the delivery of strategic leadership and initiative pertaining to the procurement function across City of Darwin moving towards 2030.

As a subject matter expert, you will be required to provide strategic advice to a range of stakeholders and liaise effectively with internal customers to ensure parties are well versed and maintain compliance with their procurement practices. You will be required to share your knowledge and support with internal key stakeholders with training in the procurement and contract management system and application.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to train staff and develop consensus to drive procedural change. You will love the challenge of assisting us to transform our procurement model and make continuous quality improvements that drive efficiency, transparency, and outcomes for stakeholders. Ideally, you will have previous experience in providing quality and strategic advice and support to assist stakeholders in contract and vendor management.
To be considered for the role you will have:
- Advanced Diploma of Procurement and Contracting / Diploma of Business (Procurement) or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of five years' experience in procurement.
- A high level of knowledge and practical understanding of current procurement practices and other legislative requirements relevant to the role.
- Well-developed effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to convey complex information in an easy to understand user format.
- Hold and maintain a Class C driver's licence.

At City of Darwin we offer competitive remuneration with generous leave entitlements. This position has a commencing base salary of $89,211.00 per annum, which is negotiable depending on skills, knowledge and experience.
