About the Opportunity
We have two full-time permanent employment opportunities for Assistant Civil Labourers in our Civil Infrastructure section. One position is in our Roads and Drainage team and the other is in our Concrete Services team. Based at our Operations facility in Winnellie, these positions are required to perform general civil labouring duties to support the maintenance and construction of the Council's civil infrastructure including roads, drains, footpaths, driveways, cycle paths, disabled access, and public places.
A standard day sees you starting at 7.30am in the morning and finishing at 4.15pm with a monthly rostered day off. You must enjoy working as part of a team and be comfortable and capable of working full days in the outdoor environment that we have here in the NT.
As an assistant civil labourer it is expected that you are flexible, reliable, accountable and able to work well with fellow team members.
To be considered for the role you must:
- Hold and maintain a Class C driver's licence.
- Hold a General Construction Industry - White Card
- Hold or be willing to attain a Medium Rigid (MR) Licence
- Hold or be willing to attain Work Zone Traffic Management 2 & 3
It is advantageous to have the following:
- Certificate in Construction or minimum 2 years relevant experience

The positions have a base salary of $57,192 per annum, negotiable based on experience, plus superannuation. City of Darwin also provides generous leave entitlements such as six weeks annual leave, 15 days personal leave and a paid RDO each month.
